FS-1502, S Over Horizontal S
1909-S/S 1C S Over Horizontal S, FS-1502, MS66+ Red PCGS.
CAC. Ex: Whispering Pines. Two repunched mintmarks exist for
the 1909-S Lincoln. FS-1502 shows the secondary S spaced wider up
and to the right than on FS-1501, and the secondary impression is
also rotated horizontally from the primary mintmark. This example
is unattributed as to specific variety by PCGS, but it is finer
than the highest-graded attributed coins by the margin of the Plus
designation (11/24). Luminous copper-gold and rose luster adorns a
sharp strike, unimpeded by abrasions or bothersome spotting.From The Whispering Pines Collection.
