Description
Lovely 1909-S, VDB Cent, MS64 Red and Brown
1909-S VDB 1C MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. Among the various "folder series," so named for the cardboard folders with which many budding numismatists start, the Lincoln cent is the most popular, and the 1909-S, VDB cent is its best-known key date. It is little wonder that any example fetches a strong price today, and a Choice representative such as the present piece generates strong interest. The glowing surfaces have an attractive blend of orange and greenish-brown color. Well-defined with only a minor abrasion on Lincoln's shoulder that precludes a Gem grade.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22B2, PCGS# 2427, Greysheet# 1800)
