Woodgrain-Toned 1909-S VDB, MS65 Brown
1909-S VDB 1C MS65 Brown NGC. While labeled Brown, this Gem S-VDB retains noticeable portions of the underlying sparkle of the original mint red luster. The original red is largely concealed by extensive woodgrain toning, a trait seen on many 1909-S cents of both designs. The devices are sharply defined and the surfaces overall free from any distracting abrasions.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22B2, PCGS# 2426, GSID# 1799)
