Outstanding 1909-S Red Gem Cent
1909-S VDB 1C MS65 Red PCGS. Light orange and gold streaks invigorate this lustrous and meticulously struck Gem. The VDB initials are boldly impressed, unlike some Uncirculated examples seen. Close inspection reveals no significant contact marks or unsightly spots. Encased in a green label holder. David Lange (2005) writes: "The Holy Grail for Lincoln cent collectors, the acquisition of a 1909-S VDB cent usually marks the completion of the series."(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22B2, PCGS# 2428, Greysheet# 1801)
