1911-D 1C MS66 Red PCGS. CAC. The surfaces are largely brick-red with a wash of pale lilac on the reverse. Carbon is completely absent, although one smallish brown toning fleck appears on the obverse. The obverse die shows some evidence of fatigue in the form of die crumbling, and the reverse die is noticeably rotated with respect to the obverse. This pristine Premium Gem Red 1911-D is tied for virtually the finest obtainable, as PCGS has certified a lone MS67 Red. Population: 45 in 66 (5 in 66+) Red, 1 finer. CAC: 10 in 66 Red, 0 finer (3/16).(Registry values: N2998)
