Description

1912 Lincoln Cent, Rare MS67 Red
Splendid Original Luster

1912 1C MS67 Red PCGS. Ex: Jerald L. Martin Collection. The 1912 Lincoln cent's mintage is just more than 68 million pieces. David Lange calls it the first slightly scarce date from the Philadelphia Mint, and this is made apparent in the upper Mint State grades. The 1912 is rare in MS67 Red and unknown finer. This is a spectacular Superb Gem example with impeccably preserved original red surfaces that show no sign of carbon. The design elements exhibit razor-sharp definition throughout and vibrant mint luster adds to the exceptional eye appeal. Population: 14 in 67 Red, 0 finer (11/18).
Ex: New York Signature (Heritage, 10/2015), lot 3057, which realized $9,400.
