Description

1913-D Cent, MS67 Red
The Sole Finest at PCGS, Ex: Blay

1913-D 1C MS67 Red PCGS. Ex: Blay-Whispering Pines. This Denver issue ranks among the more elusive early Lincoln cents in full Red condition, with such coins being rare at the MS66 level and exceptionally so in MS66+. The Whispering Pines piece surpasses all of these coins, however, being one of two pieces deemed MS67 Red and the only one in this grade at PCGS. The NGC coin in this grade has never appeared at auction, and the current PCGS coin is here making its debut.

The coin yields rich copper-orange color throughout satiny mint luster, with no overt spots or abrasions to detract from the eye appeal. A lone tick on the upper-left portion of the O in ONE serves as a pedigree marker. A sharp strike prevails throughout the design elements. Population: 1 in 67 Red, 0 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N4719)
