Description

1914-D Cent, MS64 Red and Brown
Branch Mint Key Date

1914-D 1C MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. The Denver branch mint struck only 1.19 million Lincoln cents in 1914, and at the time of issue it was not well-saved. Much attention remained on the 1909-S VDB, and for almost two decades the 1914-D caught little attention. Red and Brown examples are scarce in Gem and virtually unattainable any finer. This well-struck near-Gem displays satiny chocolate-brown patina and ample mint-copper along the rim and borders. A loupe reveals only a few tiny carbon spots and light grade-consistent marks.(Registry values: N2998)
