Description

Important 1914-D Cent, MS64 Red

1914-D 1C MS64 Red PCGS. The 1914-D is an important key date in the Lincoln cent series, especially with fully Red surfaces. Both sides of this near-Gem display soft orange-gold luster. An above-average strike leaves strong definition on the design features, including Lincoln's hair and the rims, areas that are often weak. A few light carbon flecks--present on nearly all Mint State survivors unless they were dipped or cyanided (David Bowers, 2008, p. 146)--preclude Gem classification. Extremely difficult to locate any finer.(Registry values: N4719)
