Description

1914-D Cent, MS65 Red and Brown
Sharp CAC Example

1914-D 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Collectors of circulation Lincoln cents typically consider the 1914-D to be the second biggest key date, and price history for circulated coins certainly supports this perception. However, for collectors of high-grade Mint State coins, the 1914-D is a much more difficult acquisition than the more highly heralded 1909-S VDB. Red and Brown coins in Gem condition, like the present, are scarce, and finer Red and Brown pieces are rare. This CAC-endorsed example displays sharp definition and satiny luster, with uniform amber-gold patina that deepens to chestnut-brown over the lower reverse. A few small marks and a couple faint flecks are perhaps all that serve as pedigree markers, the overall preservation being excellent for the issue. PCGS Population: 81 in 65 (8 in 65+), 4 finer (3/26). CAC: 39 in 65, 2 finer (3/26).(Registry values: N4719)
