Description

Important Red Gem 1914-D Cent

1914-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. While the 1909-S VDB cent has gained far greater fame across most grades, serious students of the series recognize the 1914-D as more challenging in the higher Mint State tiers, particularly with fully Red surfaces. This Gem has an orange obverse, generally bright, while the reverse shows a duskier peach hue. The strike is remarkably sharp, particularly on the fine details of Lincoln's portrait. A degree of peripheral carbon is most evident in the space between GOD and WE on the obverse. Housed in a green label holder. PCGS has certified just three finer Red representatives (2/10).(Registry values: N4719)
