Description

1914-D Key-Date Cent, MS66 Brown

1914-D 1C MS66 Brown NGC. The 1914-D is an important key-date in the Lincoln cent series. In referring to this issue, David Lange (2005) writes: "Mint State coins of any quality are now and always have been in short supply. Gems of any color are very scarce; fully red gems are rare." A mix of light brown and sky-blue patination adheres to semi-glossy surfaces, and is joined by blushes of crimson and copper-gold on the reverse. A well executed strike results in sharp design element definition. Both sides are devoid of mentionable contact marks or unsightly spotting. A truly wonderful specimen that will add outstanding quality and appeal to a high-grade Lincoln cent collection.(Registry values: N4719)
