Description

1914-D Cent, MS66 Red and Brown
High-End Condition Rarity

1914-D 1C MS66 Red and Brown NGC. Beautifully luminous, satiny mint luster adorns this Premium Gem. The coin is struck from an early die state, without the metal flow that appears on many examples in the margins. This piece is sharp, especially on the obverse. A few faint flecks appear, but none are bothersome. NGC designates this piece Red and Brown, although it is mostly Red, with only faint tinges of reddish-amber toning.

The 1914-D is a rarity in this grade. Even Brown MS66 pieces are rare. In Red and Brown, NGC and PCGS combined list only nine coins in this grade, with none finer in the color category. NGC Census: 5 in 66, 0 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N7079)
