Description
Lustrous Gem 1914-D Lincoln Cent
1914-D 1C MS 65 Red NGC. The 1914-D entered the annals of U.S. coinage history as a low mintage (1.1 million pieces) issue. At the time of its production, this issue was not widely recognized as a rarity, and most examples entered circulation, where they were heavily worn and/or lost. This fortunate survivor is certainly one of the finest certified representatives available to advanced Lincoln cent collectors. The surfaces exhibit a pleasing, cherry-red color that is slightly subdued by olive-tan iridescence. In terms of abrasions and striking quality, both sides easily qualify for Gem status.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22BH, PCGS# 2473, GSID# 1828)
