Description

Pleasing Red and Brown Gem 1914-S Cent

1914-S 1C MS65 Red and Brown NGC. This is a fully lustrous coin, perhaps 40% red and with the remainder a pleasing light brown color that creates a nice overall visual effect. The strike and surface quality are fully in line with the assigned grade. As of (11/08), exactly 200 1914-S cents have been certified with Red color, regardless of grade, and fewer than 100 have been certified as Gems with any color designation. Because of the dearth of alternatives, gem level Red and Brown coins such as the present piece enjoy high demand from date collectors.
