    Description

    1915-D Cent, MS66+ Red
    Important CAC Recognition
    A Condition Census Registry Coin

1915-D 1C MS66+ Red PCGS. CAC. The 1915-D is plentiful among early branch mint Lincoln cents, but it is certainly rare in this outstanding state of preservation. The Duckor coin is one of only eight pieces at PCGS with a Plus designation in this grade, and it is tied for the finest 1915-D approved by CAC. A single higher-grade example at PCGS is in MS67 Red; we auctioned that coin at the 2019 FUN Signature for $43,200, without a CAC sticker. It is now housed in the current highest-rated PCGS Registry Set. The Duckor coin is nearly the equal of that piece in terms of numeric grade (MS66+ Red), and with the added distinction of CAC endorsement one could argue that is -- at least in terms of visual appeal -- on par with the lone finer PCGS coin. Neither side exhibits carbon spotting, and the strike is sharp save for on the O in ONE. Attractive copper-orange coloration is original. Population: 43 in 66 (8 in 66+) Red, 1 finer. CAC: 15% of a total 61 submissions for this issue/grade passed. 9 in 66, 0 finer (2/20).
Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2018), lot 4132.
