Description

1916-S Cent, MS64+ Red
So Close to MS65

1916-S 1C MS64+ Red PCGS. Someone is going to recognize this piece for the great value it represents. It may take some searching to discern the difference between this 64+ and a 65. A magnifier reveals three shallow marks on the right side of the reverse and a shallow mark across the right wheat stalk. But the field marks blend well into the mattelike texture and to see them the coin must be angled just so. The strike is complete throughout and the color even and red. Population: 1 in 64+ Red, 22 finer (3/12).(Registry values: N991)
