1917-D Lincoln Cent, MS65 Red
Only Five Red Coins Certified in Higher Grades
1917-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. The 1917-D Lincoln cent was
produced in large numbers, but not with great quality. In the words
of Q. David Bowers, "A sharply struck original-color gem is a rare
bird indeed!" The present coin would satisfy Bowers' requirements
admirably. Only five coins have been certified in higher numeric
grades with the Red designation at PCGS and NGC combined
