Description

1917-D Lincoln Cent, MS65 Red
Only Five Red Coins Certified in Higher Grades

1917-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. The 1917-D Lincoln cent was produced in large numbers, but not with great quality. In the words of Q. David Bowers, "A sharply struck original-color gem is a rare bird indeed!" The present coin would satisfy Bowers' requirements admirably. Only five coins have been certified in higher numeric grades with the Red designation at PCGS and NGC combined (8/10).
