Description

1918 Cent, MS67 Red
Registry Set Essential

1918 1C MS67 Red PCGS. CAC. The number of surviving full Red 1918 cents declines significantly above the Gem grade level, and in MS67, such pieces are genuine rarities. This piece will appeal most strongly to Registry competitors, as it is numerically equal to the coin in the current highest-rated Registry Set and is one of only 11 MS67 Red examples with CAC approval. Glowing coppery-orange luster illuminates unabraded surfaces. As is typical of the issue, moderate die erosion is evident in the fields on each side and the sharpness of the reverse wheat ears is by extension weak. Nonetheless, eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 30 in 67 (3 in 67+) Red, 1 finer (8/15).(Registry values: N1793)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22BV, PCGS# 2506, Greysheet# 1753)
