Description

1920 Lincoln Cent, MS67+ Red CAC
Simply Stunning Top-Grade Rarity
An Uncompromising Registry Coin

1920 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. CAC. Ex: Whispering Pines. Shockingly few Superb Gem Red 1920 cents appear at auction, even considering the small certified population of just two dozen coins at PCGS and three more at NGC. This scarcity of appearance further heightens the Registry collector's challenge of acquiring a high-end piece within the MS67 Red grade. Among those coins the most advanced collectors might consider are four MS67+ Red PCGS coins, and six Superb Gems overall with CAC endorsement. The Whispering Pines specimen leaves all need for compromise behind, capturing both attributes and cementing itself at the top of the Condition Census, even if it shares that standing with one or two other pieces.

This remarkable coin boasts a sharp strike and vivid fire-orange, gold, and pale rose-copper hues, creating a degree of eye appeal unsurpassed by any other example of the issue. A tiny tick on the lower portion of the upright of the T in CENT serves as the only pedigree marker, as the coin is otherwise largely flawless. Population: 24 in 67 (4 in 67+) Red, 0 finer. CAC: 6 in 67, 0 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N991)
