Description

Noteworthy 1920-S Lincoln Cent MS65 Red

1920-S 1C MS65 Red PCGS. The 1920-S has proven to be one of the great condition rarities in the ever-popular series of Lincoln Cents. Despite a mintage of more than 46 million pieces, strong demand in the post War economy of the Far West brought most examples into commercial channels and the propensity for weak strikes keeps the modest number of Uncirculated survivors at the lower end of the Mint State spectrum. This well frosted, reddish-orange Gem displays uncommon sharpness for the issue and is overlaid in mottled lilac patina. A few stray marks on the portrait are only noticed under magnification. Population: 8 in 65, 0 finer (3/05).
