Description

Pleasing 1922 No D Weak Reverse One Cent
Die Pair 3, MS64 Brown

1922 No D 1C Weak Reverse MS64 Brown NGC. Die Pair 3, differentiated from the Weak Reverse Die Pair 1 by the slightly rotated reverse. Michael Fahey describes the Die Pair 3 Reverse in an April 7, 2008 Coin World article. The D mintmark does not readily show on this near-Gem example. Glimpses of orange luster peek through of bluish-brown patination. Although less desirable than the Strong Reverse variety, this is a pleasing piece. Census: 2 in 64 Brown, 0 finer (2/10).
