Description

1924-D Cent, MS65 Red
Nearly Uncollectible in Finer Grades

1924-D 1C MS65 Red PCGS. Ex: Jerald L. Martin Collection. This is an important opportunity to acquire a brilliant Gem Red example of the conditionally rare 1924-D Lincoln cent, certified by PCGS. Of all the Lincoln cents from the 1920s, the 1924-D is among the hardest to locate with original luster. Moreover, most such coins grade no finer than MS64. Both sides of this Gem showcase satiny peach-gold coloration. The design elements are well-struck, and neither side has bothersome abrasions. The reverse is rotated slightly counter-clockwise. Population: 44 in 65 (5 in 65+) Red, 1 finer (11/18).
Ex: ANA Signature (Heritage, 7/2005), lot 5284, which realized $8,625.
From The Jerald L. Martin Collection. (Registry values: N2998)
