Description

Sharply Defined 1926-S Cent, MS64 Red

1926-S 1C MS64 Red PCGS. In his Lincoln Cents reference book (2005) David Lange, discussing the 1926-S cent, writes: "Mushy coins are the rule for this issue. Most seen are from worn dies revealing distorted details, particularly toward the peripheries." This near-Gem Red example does not fit the profile. Its design elements, including those at the peripheries, are sharply defined. Copper-gold luster greets the viewer. Abrasions are absent, though a few light flecks define the grade. Population: 67 in 64 Red, 1 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N2998)
