Description

1928 Lincoln Cent, MS68 Red
Tied With One Other for Finest Known
Ex: Bender

1928 1C MS68 Red PCGS. Ex: Bender-Whispering Pines. A beautiful, high-end example with sharply defined and glistening satin luster. Each side displays bright, blond-gold color, setting this piece apart from the traditional red-orange Lincoln cents typically encountered at this grade level. No carbon spotting is present.

Typically, the finest 1928 Lincolns available to collectors are graded MS67+ Red, and even those coins are rare. However, the Whispering Pines piece presents collectors with an even more advanced option, graded MS68 Red -- one of only two pieces this fine, both certified by PCGS. It is an unsurpassable example of the date. Population: 2 in 68 Red, 0 finer (11/24).
