1936 Lincoln Cent, MS66 Red
Doubled Die Obverse, FS-102

1936 1C Doubled Die Obverse, Type Two, MS66 Red PCGS. FS-102. This coin represents the second of three significant doubled die obverse 1936 Lincoln cents listed in the latest edition of the Cherrypickers' Guide, FS-102. Strong doubling is evident on the date, IN GOD WE TRUST, and LIBERTY. The undertype R in LIBERTY shows a broken left leg. This issue is decidedly rare at the MS66 grade level, with the Red designation, and neither of the leading grading services have certified any coins in higher numeric grades (9/23). This delightful Premium Gem exhibits sharp definition on all design elements, and the impeccably preserved original red surfaces are lustrous and appealing.
