Description
Impressive Superb Gem 1936-S Lincoln Cent
1936-S 1C MS67 Red PCGS. Although certainly not a scarce coin in an absolute sense, problem-free Gem examples are scarce, and even high grade examples are often found with muted toning, weak strikes, or distracting spotting and discoloration. The present specimen exhibits none of these problems, with bright, softly glowing orange-gold color over nearly pristine creamy surfaces, and with hints of blue and green near the rims. Well struck, with some minor softness in the central reverse, and having only miniscule abrasions as expected for the grade. A small toning spot is noted near the upper left wheat stalk. Population: 25 in 67, 0 finer (12/03).From the Mike Sadler Collection.(#2656) (Registry values: P2, N100)
