    Description

1952-S 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. CAC. Plus-graded by PCGS and CAC-endorsed, this attractive 1952-S displays lustrous, blaze-orange color and carbon-free surfaces. The strike is sharp throughout. An interesting, tornado-shaped die break connects the S mintmark to 5 in the date -- a scarce anomaly we have seen before on a few 1952-S cents. The mintage of nearly 138 million pieces has yielded fewer than three dozen Plus-graded Superb Gem 1952-S cents, none of which grade any finer than MS67+ at either service. PCGS population: 25 in 67+ Red, 0 finer. CAC: 61 in 67, 0 finer (3/19).
