1955 Doubled Die Obverse Cent
FS-101, MS62 Brown, CAC Approved
Among the
100 Greatest U.S. Coins

1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS62 Brown PCGS. CAC. The green CAC label is an important quality confirmation for this attractive Mint State doubled die cent. Although a few contrarians may argue, the 1955 doubled die is the most important mint error of the series (and certainly the most popular). Light-to-medium brown color reaches evenly across both sides of this example, with faded mint red at the obverse rim. Mesmerizing, wide doubling is seen on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date.
Ex: Beverly Hills Signature (Heritage, 12/2018), lot 3145.
