Description
Glossy MS62 Brown 1955 Doubled Die Cent
1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS62 Brown PCGS. FS-101. This is a nice, solid, collector-grade example of this always-popular doubled-die error, one that was discovered almost immediately upon its release. The details of the 1955 Doubled Die Obverse being found so quickly are a testament to its boldly doubled obverse, one that is startlingly "wrong," both to the noncollectors and collectors who came across examples soon after their release. This example shows glossy brown fields with an overall clean appearance, although a couple of dark toning spots are noted on the lower reverse that likely prevent a finer grade.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 2825, GSID# 2165)
