Impressive 1955 Doubled Die Cent, MS64 Brown
1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS64 Brown NGC. CAC. FS-101, formerly FS-021.8. An impressive example of this popular error. Traces of mint red in the protected areas enhance the mahogany patina that graces both sides. The doubling is extremely pronounced, as usual, and the strike is also razor-sharp. A couple of minor abrasions keep this piece from an even higher grade. NGC reports just 11 Brown pieces finer (7/08). (Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 2825, Greysheet# 2165)
