Smooth Near-Gem Brown
1955 Doubled Die Cent, FS-101
1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS64 Brown PCGS. CAC. FS-101.
Increasing numbers of collectors are beginning to put together Mint
State Brown sets of Lincoln cents as the Mint State Red keys get
increasingly out of reach of many series fans. This MS64 Brown
piece would certainly make a nice addition to such a set,
particularly given how scarce and pricey Red Mint State 1955
Doubled Dies are. This piece offers smooth and glossy olive-brown
surfaces, with tinges of pink near the obverse rim as a bonus. PCGS
has graded only five Brown pieces finer (12/11).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 2825, Greysheet# 2165)
