Description
Attractive MS64 Red and Brown
1955 Doubled Die Obverse Cent
1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. FS-101,
formerly FS-021.8. David Bowers, in his 2008 A Guide Book of
Lincoln Cents, writes that: "It is likely that about 3,000 to
4,000 1955 Doubled-Die cents exist." Most Mint State pieces grade
between MS60 and MS63. Near-Gems are quite scarce, and higher-grade
coins are rare. Gold-orange lustrous surfaces display splashes of
blue and purple and are well defined. A few minute marks preclude
Gem status.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22FG, PCGS# 2826, GSID# 2166)
