1956 1C MS67 Red PCGS. With the advent of third-party grading and the Set Registry programs, the condition-rarity of many recent issues is finally recognized. The 1956 cent is an example, with a mintage of nearly half a billion coins, yet only 14 examples are certified as Superb Red Gems with none finer at PCGS (8/13). This piece has frosty orange luster with lighter gold wisps at the right obverse and reverse.(Registry values: N491)
