    Description

    Scarce 1907 Brenner Lincoln Plaque.

1907 Victor D. Brenner Lincoln Plaque. Bronze, 180 mm x 240 mm x 8 mm. Victor D. Brenner's 1907 plaque was the model for the 1909 Lincoln cent. A half-length portrait of a bearded President Lincoln facing right. The back of the plaque features a bronze stand. Carefully preserved aside from a few small aqua and gray toning spots. The recently published Renaissance of American Coinage, 1909-1915 by Roger W. Burdette is the most comprehensive reference concerning the evolution of the Lincoln cent from the 1907 Brenner plaque.
