1909-S VDB Cent, MS67 Red and Brown
Sole Finest Red and Brown Coin at NGC

1909-S 1C VDB MS67 Red and Brown NGC. Superb Gem Red 1909-S VDB Lincoln cents make headlines when they come up for auction. They are the finest examples of this coveted issue known, and although NGC and PCGS combined report 17 pieces to go around (including possible duplications), these coins tend to be far out of reach for the majority of Lincoln cent collectors. Somewhat overlooked by most references and dealers, however, is the opportunity that MS67 coins in Brown or Red and Brown provide. PCGS and NGC combined list one MS67 coin in Brown, and two in Red and Brown (10/21). This is the NGC Red and Brown coin. Luminous satin surfaces complement a bold strike, while copper-orange, rose, and chestnut hues adorn each side. An eye-catching coin every bit as rare as its higher-priced Red counterparts.(Registry values: N4719)
