Description

1913-D 1C MS65+ Red PCGS. CAC. Most Gem 1913-D cents certified at PCGS are Red coins, although these pieces are still elusive, and finer examples are rare. This piece displays lovely copper-red luster with slight mellowing in the left and right obverse fields and the high points of Lincoln's portrait. The color is blatantly original, which is highly sought-after on early San Francisco Lincoln cents. A lone speck is noted near the stem of the left wheat ear. PCGS lists 28 finer Red submissions. CAC: 18 in 65, 7 finer (7/19).(Registry values: N1793)
