Description

1915-S Cent, MS66 Red
Among the Top Examples Certified

1915-S 1C MS66 Red PCGS. Because of the generally poor quality of the bronze used for the planchets, the 1915-S is seldom found with original mint Red color. This extraordinary offering is an exception. The issue is known for being relatively well-struck, with fully defined examples available from time to time. Both sides are completely struck, with softly frosted luster over luminous copper-orange surfaces. There are a few carbon spots mostly on the obverse, including one just right of the D in GOD. Registry collectors will appreciate the importance of this coin, which ranks among the finest examples at PCGS and NGC combined. Population: 9 in 66 Red, 0 finer (12/18).(Registry values: N4719)
