Description

Amazing 1946 Cent, MS67 Red

1946 1C MS67 Red PCGS. Following production of steel cents in 1943, and cents made from old shell casings in 1944 and 1945, the Mint returned to its prewar composition in 1946. Well struck and intensely lustrous, with fiery-red surfaces that are only kept from an even finer rating by the presence of a tiny mark on Lincoln's cheek. A surprising conditional scarcity, with just seven pieces certified at the current grade level by PCGS, and none graded higher at either of the major services (9/08).
