Description

Ferdinand Hompesch 15 Tari 1798 MS64 NGC, KM344. Believed to have been struck during the French occupation of Malta (1798-1800). An impressive survivor to say the least, currently unrivaled at NGC and PCGS, with the next finest occupying either census is an AU55. Certainly a whimsical and visually alluring design to both the obverse and reverse, displaying as-struck level of detail amidst full steely appearances, we anticipate ample collector interest when crossing the auction block.
