American Voyages Dutch Jeton

1596 Jeton Betts-18 XF45 PCGS. Chocolate-brown surfaces contain a slightly reddish hue. A slight planchet lamination on the obverse is as made. This bronze Dutch jeton displays the Arms of Frisia on crossed anchors on the obverse, interspersed with the letters PPP, an abbreviation of Pugno Pro Patria (I Fight for the Fatherland), which remains the motto of the Dutch Navy to this day. The seven-line reverse description relays the tales of the returning navigators, also in Latin.
