Description

1916-D Mercury Dime, AU58
A Full Bands Example
Original Mint Luster and Light Toning

1916-D 10C AU58 Full Bands PCGS. CAC. Broad rims are well squared in places around this near-Mint 1916-D dime. Light russet toning attests to the originality of the surfaces but maintains the underlying golden-ivory luster in the fields. Only slight high-point wear is seen. The fasces bands are separated despite slight handling wear. Full Bands examples of this first-year key date are occasionally available but are highly sought after. Such coins are notably scarce in AU58, though, and CAC-approved examples in any grade are borderline rare. For Registry collectors assembling a high-end AU58 CAC collection, this is the ideal coin. CAC: 20 in 58, 43 finer (9/23).(Registry values: N2998)
