1916-D Dime, AU Details
Key Date Mercury Head
1916-D 10C -- Cleaned -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. From the
key date of the series and one of the most collected issues in the
U.S., this minimally circulated Mercury dime is mostly brilliant
with faint mottles of light amber and lilac on the periphery.
Well-struck, the reverse has light abrasions consistent with an
AU-level example along with good details and full crossbands.
Surfaces on Liberty have been slightly cleaned but with little
original luster remaining. Even so, the overall eye appeal is
pleasing, and with limited availability from a mintage of only
264,000 pieces, this AU-level example represents a great
opportunity to own a piece from this iconic issue.
