1916-D 10C --Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. XF. The famously low-mintage first-year issue, offered here with minor wear and pleasing detail for an XF-range coin. The surfaces are hairlined and overbright from a past cleaning, though gold and peach retoning over much of each side mitigates the cleaning somewhat. A few dark spots are noted at the right obverse.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23GY, PCGS# 4906, GSID# 4523)
