Description

1919-S Dime, MS65 Full Bands
Registry-Grade Example

1919-S 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS. The 1919-S is a moderately challenging issue to acquire in high grade, particularly with Full Bands. Such coins are rare even in MS65, with just a handful of finer pieces known. This satiny Gem displays ivory-white luster and is devoid of all but the most minute surface marks. Touches of russet toning grace the borders. A sharp strike defines not only the central fasces bands but also the border legends, which are often weak around the outer edge near the rims. Registry collectors will be hard-pressed to locate a superior 1919-S Mercury dime, as higher-grade Full Bands examples have not appeared in our auctions for more than a decade. Population: 28 in 65 (7 in 65+) Full Bands, 5 finer (9/23).(Registry values: N4719)
