1919-S Dime, MS65 Full Bands
Golden Toning, Rare This Fine

1919-S 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS Secure. The 1919-S Mercury dime is a rarity in Gem Full Bands condition, and in finer grades the populations drops off to near-nonexistence. We have not handled a Full Bands 1919-S finer than the present in nearly a decade. Moreover, this MS65 coin stands out from its peers. Both sides are so uniformly toned a perfect golden hue that, at first glance, the coin has the deceptive appearance of actually being struck in gold. Detail is needle-sharp throughout the interiors, and border weakness on the reverse is solely due to die erosion, not strike pressure. Some clash marks in front of Liberty's profile add interest to the coin, and the preservation is exceptional. Population: 24 in 65 (2 in 65+) Full Bands, 4 finer (11/18).
