Description

1920-D Dime, MS67+ Full Bands
Tied for Second Finest Certified

1920-D 10C MS67+ Full Bands NGC. The 1920-D dime is relatively available in lower grades, and even Full Bands examples can be located for a price. But when the availability of high grade is combined with Full Bands, the number of known pieces is very small. NGC has only certified five coins in MS67 Full Bands, and PCGS has graded seven with one example finer (2/19). One of the often-seen production problems for the 1920-D dime is the prevalence of die cracks. Their absence on this coin suggests it was struck from a fresh pair of dies, and the completeness of strike indicates the dies were set close enough together to give a full strike. Most of each side is brilliant, but there is a long arc of golden-russet and sea-green toning seen along the peripheries.(Registry values: N4719)
