Description
Satiny Gem Full Bands 1923-S Dime
1923-S 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS. Satiny luster radiates from the untoned surfaces on this example, one of the most difficult Gems to encounter with Full Bands. This issue is noted both for peripheral weakness and flat central and diagonal bands. On this example, the center bands are fully split and rounded, although examination with a loupe reveals a nick through them. Both diagonal bands are well defined. The S mintmark and the NE in ONE nearby are a bit soft, and there is a small obverse die crack that joins the rear of the wing to the rim, as often found in this series. Population: 25 in 65, 5 finer (11/05).From The Larry Shapiro #1 All-Time Finest Mercury Dimes Full Bands Basic PCGS Registry Set.(Registry values: N4719)
