Conditionally Rare 1924-S Dime, MS64 Full Bands
1924-S 10C MS64 Full Bands PCGS. The 1924-S is one of the best known strike rarities in the Mercury dime series, and population data has also proven this to be one of the most difficult issues in Mint State. The current example is an intensely lustrous piece that shows substantially above-average overall detail. Hints of purple and sky-blue toning are seen on the obverse, and golden-brown toning is apparent at the reverse periphery. A couple of trivial grade-defining marks are noted on each side. A planchet lamination is present at 8 o'clock on the reverse border. PCGS has graded only 16 finer Full Bands pieces (8/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23HL, PCGS# 4947, GSID# 4550)
