1924-S Dime, MS65 Full Bands
Among the Rarest Series Issues So Graded

1924-S 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS. The 1924-S Mercury dime was struck in a generous amount of more than 7 million coins during the decade of the Roaring Twenties, but most of those coins are strike-challenged and/or well-circulated today. Even Mint State coins are apt to be no better than MS63, as a rule In Gem Full Bands, the 1924-S is among the rarest issues in the entire set. This piece is a pleasing exception, showing pale rose-gold and light gray patina on surfaces that are largely untoned -- and largely unmarked -- otherwise. All of the bands are fully split and rounded, and only a few minuscule ticks appear, consistent with the grade. Population: 18 in 65 (1 in 65+) Full Bands, 2 finer (7/16).(Registry values: N4719)
